1. The first point of view we can identify is the one of the english teacher: a person used to the modern filestyle of the cities, where everything can (only) be bought with money and people live very close to each other in a satured space of technology. The second point of the is the one of the black man: a person used to the life in the camp, where all he must supply his needs by his own effort and where he lives with just a few people in his vicinity.
2. The miscommunication is due to their different lifestyles. The black man is used to a lifestyle where he does all by his own, so activities he normally do as hoeing the garden or cleaning the patio are attemps to show himself as a good worker to the english teacher in order to gain some money, and that misconception leads the teacher into misunderstanding all the black man's actions.
Nice Analysis!
