Iswegh Attay

1. We can learn from the video that the Tuareg is an African or a mid-eastern culture, because they wear desert clothes. We can also appreciate that they are a spiritual and pacific culture of people who know to enjoy the small pleasures of life.

2. By seeing the video and knowing the lyrics we can see that Tuareg people are not passing through a good moment, they feel oppressed and they want to break free. However, they are are still calm and are able to enjoy what life has for them, able to spend good moments in community, able to drink a glass of tea together.

Barranquilla - 2013 Cultural Capital

1. Barranquilla was chosen because the president of the Cultural Capital's International Bureau, Xavier Tudela, was very impressed with the city, the unity of the people regarding the culture, and the international projection of Barranquilla.

2. I think it will, beacause being elected as American 2013's Cultural Capital allows the city to promote itself internationally through the Bureau's agreement with some european TV channels.

An american in Uganda: Two worlds collide

1. The first point of view we can identify is the one of the english teacher: a person used to the modern filestyle of the cities, where everything can (only) be bought with money and people live very close to each other in a satured space of technology. The second point of the is the one of the black man: a person used to the life in the camp, where all he must supply his needs by his own effort and where he lives with just a few people in his vicinity.

2. The miscommunication is due to their different lifestyles. The black man is used to a lifestyle where he does all by his own, so activities he normally do as hoeing the garden or cleaning the patio are attemps to show himself as a good worker to the english teacher in order to gain some money, and that misconception leads the teacher into misunderstanding all the black man's actions.
